Add Extra Charge Per Kilometer After Distance Threshold

A feature request to add the ability to apply an additional per-kilometer fee after a certain distance threshold is exceeded. For example, after 15 kilometers, charge an extra 10 per kilometer. Further clarification is needed to understand if the fare would be fixed until the threshold is reached, and the rationale for setting this kind of rate

in thaiwan there are multiple tiered thresholds:
First Kilometer: The starting fare is 40 THB for both small and large taxis.
1-10 Kilometers: The fare is 6.50 THB per kilometer for both small and large taxis.
10-20 Kilometers: The fare increases to 7.00 THB per kilometer.
20-40 Kilometers: The fare is 8.00 THB per kilometer.
40-60 Kilometers: The fare is 8.50 THB per kilometer.
60-80 Kilometers: The fare is 9.00 THB per kilometer.
Above 80 Kilometers: The fare increases to 10.50 THB per kilometer.
Additionally:
If the taxi is moving at less than 6 km/h (e.g., stuck in traffic), there is a waiting fee of 3 THB per minute.

I've heard this request before - can anyone help me understand this use case? When would someone use this type of threshold or tiered pricing over standard pricing?

Driver from Taiwan: "Because our charging rules here are that an additional 10 yuan per kilometer will be charged for trips over 15 kilometers. This rule applies to those guests who travel long distances, such as moving across counties and cities."
